Veg Sem Shimoga...





Are you also looking for a nice and easy to prepare unique evening snack to surprise your family, then here is one called Veg Sem Shimoga. The nice thing about this recipe is that it is healthy, oil free and low calorie and its crunchy taste is a plus too, all makes it a rare combination.

It can be made in just 15 - 20 minutes, and I am sure that it will be a hit with your family too...




So, here is the recipe of my favourite new recipe...

Ingredients...

  • 1cup fresh Sem Beans seeds
  • 1/2 cup fresh Green chana
  • 5-6 chopped Button Mushroom
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 chopped Tomato
  • 2 chopped Onion (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh Coriander leaves
  • 1 Tsp Chaat Masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Butter



Method...

  • In a pan put 1 tablespoon butter and let it melt. Then put the chopped onions and let it go golden. Add salt  to taste. 
  • Then add the Sem beans, green chana, button mushroom and chopped tomatoes and cover the dish with a lid and let it cook for 2  minutes on low flame.
  • Let it cook for 15 to 20 minutes and keep stirring after every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  • After 20 minutes just check if the beans are evenly cooked by tasting one.
  • If it is found soft then remove from fire and let it cook in its heat for another 10 minutes.
  • Add 1 tablespoon chaat masala and one lemon juice.
  • Decorate with green coriander leaves.
  • Serve with tomato sauce  or your fav chutney.
